APS6 Senior Social Media Officer

Randstad is searching for a skilled and accomplished APS6 Senior Social Media Officer who possesses a keen eye for detail and excels in their field. About your new role

The APS6 Senior Social Media Officer is a full-time, ongoing position based in Canberra, ACT, within the Corporate branch (Communications section). Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Communications, this role focuses on promoting the agency’s people, work, and achievements across multiple digital platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube). The primary objective is to develop and deliver innovative, targeted social media content that aligns with the agency's Social Media and External Communications strategies. Ultimately, the role aims to build and maintain community trust

What you will need to exceed

• Hands-on experience in videography, including both filming and editing video content tailored for social media platforms.
• A practical understanding and knowledge of creating and publishing social media content, managing community responses, and analysing channel performance for a government agency or other organisation.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality digital content tailored to different audiences and ranging in content and complexity.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work both under direction and autonomously to achieve results with initiative.
• A sharp eye for detail to ensure all communications are accurate, clear, and complete; correct in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and editorial style; and that they maintain a consistent tone and voice.

Must have

• Tertiary qualifications in communications or digital technologies, or equivalent professional experience in these specific fields.
